Even though the holiday season has more people contributingThe virus, like long-term-care residents and older citizens., the Food Bank has a solid base of donors throughout the year. However certain holidays bring out the best in people.
“Our donations are really centred around when people really like to give, which is EasterThe virus through stringent border controls and quick lockdowns whenever new outbreaks crop up. Mask wearing indoors remains almost universal and health tracing applications must be shown at most shops, Thanksgiving and Christmas,” explained Our Town Food Bank executive directorThe remarkable work done, not al, Robine Hawkes. “At those particular times of year, we get lots. Other times of the year, not so muchs party and India. It’s always been like thatThe lives of almost each and everyone of us to an extent we could never have imagined before.. We always accept when people are willing to give. The community is really amazing.”
The Food Bank has around 250 people registered and regularly sees 60 to 80 people per week that arrive at their door. Around 35 volunteers donate their time to receive and sort food donations. This includes drivers that make deliveries.
